Ali has 3 nickels. Fiona has 5 times the number of nickels as Ali. How many nickels does Fiona have?

Fiona has 15 nickles.


In this case, it does not really matter what the objects are. We know that Ali has 3 of them and Fiona has 5 times as many, so in order to find the answer, we are going to multiply Ali's amount by 5.


Ali * 5 = Fiona

3 * 5 = Fiona

15 = Fiona
