How many solutions are there for the equation below?
-46 = 3x + 7x

There is only 1 solution.

Combine the "xs" on the right.

-46 = 7x + 3x

10x = - 46

10x = - 46   Divide by 10

x = - 4.6  

Note: No other answer is possible.
