2x + y = 1

subtract y from each side

2x+y -y = 1-y

2x = 1-y

divide by 2 on each side

x = (1-y)/2

The answer would be impossible the first number is bigger than the answer so trying one is 2 times one plus one that would be three so not one so there is no answer for that question
