LET FIRST NUMBER BE X AND SECOND Y

X + Y = 26 ........ 1

5 + 2Y = 29

: 2Y = 29 - 5

2Y = 24

DIVIDING BY 2

2Y/2 = 24/2

Y = 12

PUTTING  Y =12 IN EQUATION 1

X + 12 = 26

X = 26 - 12

X = 14
