Hey there! I'm happy to help!

Order of operations is PEMDAS. Parentheses comes first.

(-4+2)=-2

So, now we have -5-(-2)2

The next available option is multiplication.

-5-(-4)

Now we do addition and subtraction.

-5+4

-1.

Have a wonderful day! :D
