In my opinion the original amount is 80. First put the original amount as A1 and new amount as A2 then the change is 36 and 45% change. so A1 - A2 = 36.

36 = 45%

so

36 = 45%

x = 100%

then criss ceoss method.

x = 80. so A1 ia 80 and A2 is A1 - 36 = 44.

A1 ia 80 and A2 is 44 which A2 is the new the new amount.
