the vertices of a triangle ABC are A(2,6) B(-2,3) and C(4,1). find the coordinates of D, the midpoint of BC.

the midpoint of BC = D

x(mid) = (x(B) + x(C)) / 2 = (-2 + 4) / 2 = 1

y(mid) = (y(B) + y(C)) / 2 = ( 3 + 1) / 2 = 2 

=>  D(1,2)
