5x + 2y = -20, x = -4

Plug in -4 for x.

5(-4) + 2y = -20

Simplify.

-20 + 2y = -20

Add 20 to both sides.

2y = -20 + 20

Simplify.

2y = 0

Divide both sides by 2.

y = 0
