Since GH bisects CF, therefore:
CD = (1/2) CF
3y - 11 = (1/2) (2y -2)   (multiply both sides by 2)
6y - 22 = 2y - 2
6y - 2y = -2 + 22
4y = 20
y = 5

Substitute with the value of y in the equation of CD, you get:
CD = 3y-11 = 3(5) - 11 = 15 - 11 = 4 cm
