We have AB + BC = AC.

2x + 7 = 6x - 5

2x - 6x = - 5 - 7

-4x = -12

x = -12/-4

x = 3

We both know that x is 3.

We also want AB.

AB = 2x

AB = 2(3)

AB = 6
