Simplifying an expression is combining like terms (ie. 1+ 3+4x + 3x= 4 + 7x). Or adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing anything that can be done.

=1 - 8b + 6b
combine like terms
=1 - 14b

ANSWER: 1 - 14b
