The term Lateral
It means which is remote from the mid-line of the body. Also, it relates to the sides of the body or moving in a sideways direction. Further, it indicates an outer portion of the body parts. A good example is when relating to the knee, and lateral points to the surface of the knee faraway of the opposing knee.
